Missive from Ukraine: Ambushed But Still On The Road

Last week, Andy and Olga’s ambulance was struck, not once, but by four drones. Despite the shock waves and damage, both emerged largely unscathed, just as they always do: resilient, clear-headed, determined.

Their vehicle, however, didn’t fare as well. It’s now out of commission, a stark reminder of the cost these missions carry. Yet in true form, Andy and Olga wasted no time. Their response? To carry on, to adapt, and to continue saving lives.

Why It Matters

  • The war in Ukraine continues to destroy infrastructure and demand for emergency medical transport has never been greater.

  • Ambulances are coveted targets, and many don’t last long. In Eastern Ukraine, it's estimated a single ambulance may only function for four months or less under fire.

  • UK-based initiatives regularly step in, buying, refurbishing, and driving used ambulances to Ukraine, often through auctions.

Our Ask

We urgently need your help to buy a replacement ambulance at auction in the UK, outfit it for maximum protection, and drive it to Ukraine where Andy and Olga can put it to immediate use.

Why now?

  • Without a functioning ambulance, their rescue capacity drops to zero.

  • A secure, well-configured ambulance is essential for their safety and effectiveness.

Every donation helps:

  • £5,000–£10,000 — typical cost range for ex‑NHS ambulances at auction in the UK.

  • Additional funds go toward protective upgrades, medical gear, insurance, fuel, and logistics.

Final Word

Ignore the headlines, ignore the statistics: look at Andy and Olga. Despite being hit, they keep going. But they can’t do it alone. With your help, we can get them back on the road. And every mile they drive, every life they save, that started with someone like YOU.

Thank you for standing with us—and with Ukraine.
