Upskill & Connect Event

A huge thank you to all involved in the inspiring Upskill & Connect event!

On Thursday, The Community Lab Initiative CIC had the opportunity to attend Upskill & Connect: Legal Guidance for Your Non-Profit, as part of #IHPBD2025.

IHPBD 2025 is co-designed and launched by the In-House Pro Bono Group, a community of 90+ in-house legal teams, and Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP, an international law firm in the city.

This event, organised in collaboration with LawWorks brought together over 90 in-house legal professionals from organisations such as Amazon, Bank of America, Bloomberg, Citi, Chelsea Football Club, Goldman Sachs, GSK, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, HSBC, ITV and Ocado Group - all generously volunteering their legal expertise to support not for profits like ours.

The day offered practical guidance on legal issues, governance, employment, contracts, and more - along with a powerful session from PBE on the economic evaluation of our social impact.

We left energised and better equipped to deliver on our mission.

At The Community Lab Initiative CIC, we support Ukrainian refugees in Lincolnshire to improve their English and employability skills, and build a strong sense of community and belonging in the UK.

📢 If we didn't get a chance to connect in London, we’d love for you to get to know our work, find out how we're making a difference, and connect with us - whether you’re a fellow not for profit organisation, funder, employer, or just someone who believes in people helping people.

Let’s build a stronger, more inclusive future together.
