Our First Birthday... We’re ONE!!
One year ago, we started from a local pub with nothing but a shared purpose: to support our talented local Ukrainian community. No staff, no office—just volunteers, big hearts, and the determination to empower Ukrainian Families and keep supporting Ukraine.
What a year it’s been! We’ve built connections with business professionals, civic leaders, non-profits, and many other VCSE organisations. We've provided support and helped our community navigate essential services. We probably made a few mistakes along the way, but we've learned so much—and most importantly, we've grown together.
But this is just the beginning. Watch us grow!
From day one, our dream wasn’t just to help—it was to enhance skills, build knowledge, and empower our community. To achieve this, we've:
Improved accessibility to services by connecting people with local support and advocating for our community’s needs.
Strengthened skills and confidence through our Business ESOL course, conversation club, interview practice, confidence-building and marketing workshops, and networking opportunities.
Laid foundations for a growing organisation that can one day employ and empower our own community.
We're on the path to becoming a self-sustaining organisation. Our future vision includes creating jobs, developing leaders, and fostering a stronger local community for all Ukrainians here.
